Safety concerns raised on Shercock to C’hill road
Safety concerns regarding the R192 from Shercock to Cootehill were raised at a recent Bailieborough Cootehill Municipal District meeting recently.
Raising the motion, Sinn Féin Councillor Paddy McDonald queried if there were any plans to upgrade a certain portion of the road where “a lorry went in”.
In response, Senior Executive Engineer Alan Lyons told the meeting there are many areas on roads where a dip is located behind hedges.
Mr Lyons stated “the road is sound”.
He stated the road “needs works” however, not immediately, therefore it will not be made a priority.
He told the meeting he would request “more signage” to make motorists aware of the possible danger.
