Sunny weather and blue skies ahead

Weather update from Met Éireann

After a number of false dawns it looks like summer has finally arrived and is here to stay, just in time for the long weekend.

This is good news for everyone, except for anyone doing state exams, but there is a reason sunny spells in early June is called 'leaving cert weather', so perhaps it should be expected.

Today and tomorrow will be warm and slightly breezy with highs of 19-23 degrees celsius, with night time temperatures ranging from 7 to 11 degrees on both nights.

Going forward Met Éireann predicts that temperatures will reach highs of 19 to 24 degrees on Thursday and Friday, with clear skies and light breezes.

The weather is forecasted to remain fine over the long weekend, with the mercury set to reach up to 24 degrees on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with warmest temperatures in the west of the country.

So lets break out the barbecue and slather on the sun cream because opportunities to enjoy such sunshine are few and far between in Ireland so make the most of it while it lasts!
