The Chili Lounge's KulfiAn Indian restaurant in Cavan Town is celebrating after picking up two prestigious awards in just one day recently.
Raju Hasan of The Chilli Lounge on Main Street said he was most proud to win the two accolades.
“We won the Best World Cuisine in Ulster Award at the Irish Restaurant Association in the Clayton Hotel in Dublin, and later the same day we won the Best Indian Establishment in Ireland at the Food Awards Ireland. It was great to win the awards, there were over 1,200 people at the ceremonies.”
It isn’t the first time The Chilli Lounge has been nominated and won various gongs.
“We won the best newcomer at the Irish Restaurant Awards in 2018 and also won Best World Cuisine in Cavan in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. We also won the best Indian Establishment in Ireland for the Food Awards Ireland in 2022,” said the thrilled proprietor.
He says there are a number of secrets to this constant success, which he is happy to share.
“We work very hard. All through Covid, we never missed a day as our takeaway remained open so people had a place to go. It’s tough but it’s worth it. Our customers have also been very loyal so we’re grateful for that,” said Raju who also paid tribute to his hardworking staff.
