Marilyn O’Connor.

Vital funds being raised for Marilyn

A GoFundMe page has been established to raise vital funds to aid the treatment for a Crossdoney woman with Motor Neurone Disease.

With a target of €60,000, it is hoped that any funds raised would help Marilyn O’Connor travel to Bangkok to receive stem cell treatment for her condition.

Marilyn said she hopes the treatment could turn her life around.

“It has been proven to transform people’s lives and given them a better quality of life. I would love the opportunity to have the chance to have a longer life and a better quality of life.”

The mother of five, who was first diagnosed with MND in September 2022, has previously raised over €100,000 for charities such as Autism Support, Cancer Research, Domestic Violence Victims, Child Abuse Victims and Motor Neuron Disease. Her most recent endeavour was to host a Valentine’s Ball called ‘Dance While You Can’ in the Cavan Crystal Hotel, which raised over €18,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Ireland.
