Loan offer at local credit union

Ballyconnell Credit Union (BCU) is providing a 6.9% (7.12% APR) rate for loans of €25,000 or more until September 30, 2023.

“This is a very competitive rate, which is available for a limited time,” loan officer Susan McCaffrey said.

The Credit Union has a loan calculator facility on their website, which helps members plan their loan amount, term, and repayment schedule as well as a DocuSign function, which allows customers to sign loan documents online and draw down their loan from the comfort of their own home.

BCU provides a full online banking facility for members. In addition, Susan advises that they are open six days a week and want to help their members in whatever way best suits them.

“You can contact our office or call in,” Susan assured, mentioning that there will always be somebody at the end of the phone or in office happy to speak to you.

The team provides a range of services including a current account with a debit card, direct debits, standing orders and foreign exchange.

Ballyconnell Credit Union also has a €1,000 grant up for grabs for four university students this year.

The bursaries are an annual contribution by the credit union to help students fund the cost of education. Those applying must be members or have a family member within the same household who is a member.

Forms to apply for the bursary will be available online and in the office next month, with those interested asked to keep an eye on the credit union’s social media and website.

The bursary winners will be announced in October.

As well as the bursaries, BCU provide an education loan rate of 4.95% (5.06% APR) to help students pay for college.
