Community groups host homecoming events

#CavanCalling

Twenty-seven community and voluntary organisations across County Cavan have received grant aid to deliver events in support of the Cavan Calling homecoming festival this summer.

A total of €45,000 in funding was allocated to 27 community and voluntary organisations across the county eager to host cultural events in and around the Cavan Calling festival, July 26-30.

Among the events supported are ‘A Cavan Convergence’, a cross-border traditional music event with Droimín Creative who are also hosting an event called ‘For The Love Of Cavan - Poetry & Song’.

Positive Age meanwhile will host a Community Intergenerational Project on July 30; and Nyah Comhaltas will celebrate the finest of Irish traditional music talent, song and dance, at A Taste of Cavan Culture.

Elsewhere, a Family Day will take place at Tullacmongan Resource Centre in Cavan Town; there’ll be an Indian cultural event with the Indian Cultural Arts club; a celebration of local culture by Dowra Courthouse Community Group; and a Busking Bonanza to coincide with the Bailieborough Midsummer Festival 2023.
