Virginia Indian recognised for Ireland’s best curry

Indian Tandoori scoops Overall Winner

Celebrations are high in Virginia this week after a popular Indian restaurant secured a hat-trick of awards in the Curry Awards Irelands.

Indian Tandoori was crowned ‘Overall Winner’ among all Indian restaurants in Ireland, as well as ‘Regional Winner’ in Ulster and ‘Team of The Year’.

Speaking about success, business owner Edamul Hoque Choudhury stated: “We’re very happy to win these awards after a very tough competition.

“These awards are testament to the quality of food we serve.

“This is a great achievement for all my team members including our chef who works tirelessly in the kitchen, all the waiters and the management.”

Emadul outlined the work which had gone into achieving such prestigious awards.

“For us it’s about using locally sourced high quality ingredients to prepare the best Indian authentic curries for our customers every day.”

The Curry Awards Ireland, hosted by Oceanic Consulting, recognises the dedication, innovation, and remarkable contributions of establishments within the curry industry that have played an integral part in Ireland’s thriving culinary landscape.

This year's award ceremony took place online, meaning online voting and feedback from customers was vital in securing a win.

The multi award winning Cavan business has been in operation in Virginia for more than two decades, making Emadul a familiar face to people in the town.

“I have been working for over 20 years on Main Street Virginia,” explains Emadul happily.

“Last year, in September we moved to a new, bigger and nicer premises on the same street. We renovated this place to a very high standard.

“Our restaurant has certified and qualified chefs, who together have more than 50 years of experience.

“Since the move, we have received very nice feedback from our customers about high quality and tasty food,2 he said.
