Gardaí investigate theft of telephone cable

Gardai in Monaghan are currently investigating the theft of a quantity of Eir telephone cable from the Monaghan road side of Glaslough village.

The theft occurred at approximately 1am on Sunday morning, August 13.

Gardaí made the following appeal on their social media account: "Did you notice anything suspicious in the area around that time? It is believed a large blue van may have been involved bearing an English registration.

"If you can assist in any way please give us a call in Monaghan on 047 77240."
