RTB Publishes Strategic Vision to 2025
The RTB is building on the progress of the previous strategy.
The Residential Tenancies Board has published its new Statement of Strategy highlighting its dedication to ongoing improvement and representing a three-year approach to guide the work of the organisation over the period 2023-2025.

In developing this new Statement of Strategy, the RTB engaged in a public consultation process with a wide range of stakeholders, which provided important insights and emerging themes to inform the strategy. The RTB is publishing the report from this consultation process also today.
The Statement of Strategy has a key focus on the effective delivery of four core service areas. These are: registering tenancies, resolving disputes, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate information, research, data and insights to inform the public and policymakers. The RTB’s priority actions during 2023-2025 will be centred on these core service areas and on delivering demonstrable gains in performance in relation to each. Taken together, the actions under these four areas will see the RTB create positive impact for the public in keeping with its mission and ambition as a public body carrying out important functions in the public interest.
To support the Strategy the RTB have also published a detailed, annual business plan for 2023 that will identify each action, steps to be taken, resources to be used and target outcomes. The business plan for 2024 will be published in the new year.
Speaking on the launch of the Strategy, Director of the Residential Tenancies Board, Niall Byrne commented: "This Statement of Strategy reflects the input of a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external to the RTB. We thank all those who contributed to our consultation process. We have strived to incorporate the key public interest concerns into our objectives and planned actions. We also have emphasised the RTB’s ambition, as a public body, to make a difference to the public through our work, while also outlining a clear pathway to further develop our capacity and capability to deliver these results."
During the lifetime of this strategy, the RTB will celebrate twenty years since its establishment in 2004.
The implementation of this strategy will be monitored and reviewed by the RTB Board and the Executive Leadership Team. In addition, a performance delivery agreement is in place between the RTB and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, which includes processes for monitoring performance on an annual basis.
