Minister announces 10 new jobs at Swad firm

M:Tec Engineering jobs boost for border region.

Ten new permanent positions have been announced in Cavan in a further to the border region.

The jobs at M:Tec Engineering were announced by Minister Heather Humphreys as she visited the company’s headquarters in Swanlinbar.

Specialising in machinery engineering with a focus on manufacturing and exporting trailers, M:Tec Engineering has grown from strength to strength since its foundation in 2020.

During her visit to the headquarters in Swanlinbar, Minister Humphreys praised the work and efforts of the Malanaphy family for building the company into what it is today.

“I’m particularly pleased to announce ten new permanent jobs and highly skilled roles in County Cavan and this region with a company that epitomizes resilience, innovation, and global ambition,” said Minister Humphreys said.

“We are here to celebrate how ingenuity in Irish engineering can disrupt a seemingly mature market, enabling new brands to emerge, taking a share of that market and competing on a global scale."

She celebrated the success of the local business which, in the last year alone, has doubled its workforce, opened two new assembly lines, and achieved your first dealership contract in Australia.

“This is a remarkable achievement within your first four years of trading,” she added.

Minister Humphreys further noted that “M-Tec Engineering has emerged as a company to really watch, achieving sales in the region of €1.2m to the UK and a contract in Australia, within four years of being established.”

She continued: “You have diversified, innovated, and you continually strive for excellence in engineering, always guided by that customer, people focused approach.

“M-Tec Engineering represents a shining example of resilience and re-invention by an Irish family business, pivoting from the more traditional industry of mushroom farming to trailer engineering.

“Your commitment to developing products to meet the needs of farmers in terms of efficiency and safety is widely recognised and admired.”

In concluding her visit, the minister congratulated the team at M-Tec Engineering on their achievements to date.

“I know that the Malanaphy family – Danny, Adrian, Therese and Noeleen - recognise and appreciate the hard work and commitment by all of you in the company.

“I have no doubt that with your ambition and drive, your vision will become a reality.

“I know you will achieve so much more in the future and I wish you every success.”
