Cavan named Top Depot 2023

If you suddenly discover you’re low on fuel in the Cloverhill area, the team at the Top Oil Cavan Depot are on your side. With a phone call, the delivery truck is there in a jiffy. It doesn’t matter why − the team prefers nobody suffers a cold night without fuel.

“Our drivers have meaningful relationships with our customers. If a customer needs help, they’ll go out of their way to deliver to them,” says Sinead Gilsenan, Top Oil Cavan Depot Manager.

A commitment to customers is just one of the factors that earned the Cloverhill team the Top Oil Depot of the Year Award, chosen from 22 Top Oil depots across Ireland.

“We work really hard as a team and take pride in our work,” Ms Gilsenan says. “And it is great for the depot to be recognised against the rest of the country. It gives us great positive reinforcement that we’re doing our job well and in a very safe manner.”

The depot earned high points in all the competition’s categories, including standards of safety and customer service. In addition to delivering kerosene to homes, the team also delivers diesel to the agricultural, marine and transport industry.

“Team with a capital ‘T’ is what we have in Cloverhill,” says Gilsenan. “As Depot Manager, I am extremely proud to have such a great team around me. This shows through with the pride everyone takes in their roles and the number of returning customers we have.”

All the depot’s drivers have lived in this county all their lives, so they are well acquainted with the customers and the area to which they deliver.

Meet the team

Ray Keady has been serving Top Oil customers for more than 25 years as a driver. “He has a huge knowledge of the local area,” said Ms Gilsenan. “Ray is customer-focused and passionate about taking care of his truck and providing a safe and efficient service.”

Joe McManus joined the Top Oil Cavan team last year as a driver. “He fits right in – a man with local knowledge, years of driving experience and customer service,” added Ms Gilsenan.

Adrian Dempsey, sales representative, has grown up in sales. “Adrian has a great way of building trust with his customers,” Ms Gilsenan says. If you have commercial inquiries, you can ring Adrian directly at 086-8558006.

Larry O’Halloran recently joined the team as Depot Lead. “His professional approach to customer care and promoting the health and safety of every person in the depot is exceptional,” says Ms Gilsenan.

At the centre of Cavan’s operation are Eamon Reilly and Martin O’Rourke, who have more than 30 years’ service between them. Their warm, friendly welcome is why so many customers return time and time again.
