€10,000 in scholarships from Link CU

Link Credit Union is offering its members, who are third level students, a chance to win a €1,000 scholarship from their local credit union. A total of €10,000 in scholarships are up for grabs through the branches in Kingscourt, Bailieborough and Cootehill.

Scholarships are not performance based and are open to any student member aged between 17 and 24 years who is in full-time third level education. The scholarships will be awarded via two separate draws:

• A general draw, which is open to all student members who are in full-time, third level education. Link Credit Union will randomly select eight lucky winners who will receive an award of €1,000.

• A further draw will take place for members who took out an educational/student loan between July 31, 2023 and December 31, 2023. Two lucky winners will receive an award of €1,000 from this draw.

To apply The scholarship application form can be downloaded from the website - www.linkcu.ie - or picked up from one of Link Credit Union’s offices in Kingscourt, Bailieborough or Cootehill.

To qualify, you must be a member of Link Credit Union prior to August 31, 2023. The closing date for applications is November 30.

Student loans

Link Credit Union also supports members by offering low-cost student loans. “As ethical lenders in Link Credit Union, we will never recommend that a student borrows more than they can repay or a loan that will put them in unnecessary debt. Our aim is to help students meet their financial commitments,” Angela Rice, Link Credit Union’s CEO explains.

She's encouraging students and parents who may be struggling financially to drop into one of the offices to chat to a trained staff member, who can advise on the best and most affordable financial solution "to help them through these difficult yet rewarding years”.

Link Credit Union is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.
