Former ACB HQ sells for €1.27m

Liquidators appointed to firm last year.

The former warehouse and offices of Ballyjamesduff based ACB Group has been sold.

The property at Ranrenagh was first brought to market on behalf of the company’s liquidator, Grant Thornton back in April this year, just months after the companies were petitioned in the High Court by one of their directors, Georgina Quigley.

Founded in 2003 by Managing Director Mark Quigley, ACB started out building logistics warehouses, motorway service stations as well as holiday villages, but since 2013 used the digital transformation as a driver to switch focus to construct European data centres.

In 2019 the business built and opened its new headquarters near Ballyjamesduff.

ACB Manufacturing was established in 2021 to support ACB Group’s offsite construction aims.

ACB Group Design and Construct Limited and ACB Manufacturing Ltd had 23 employees at its height.

Last year ACB Design and Construct made a reported loss of over €2 million, according to petition documents before the courts.

Located on a standalone and enclosed site just off the N3 Dublin to Cavan Road the ACB Group property was initially listed with a guide price of €975,000.

It eventually sold for just under €1.27 million, some 30 per cent above asking.

Finished to a high specification the property comprises of a large, modern detached industrial unit extending to 18,234 sq ft with separate detached modern offices extending to 1,980sq ft.

The offices are finished to a high standard and include a mix of open-plan and cellular offices, suspended ceilings, LED lighting, air conditioning, carpeted floors, kitchenette, WCs and shower facilities.

It was described in the offering by Colliers as representing an “excellent opportunity” for both investors and owner occupiers.
