Smyth welcomes official opening of 15 class extension in 'blayney

Opening follows recent extension announcement.

Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth has welcomed the official opening of a 15 classroom extension at Our Lady’s Secondary School in Castleblayney.

The project involved an investment of just under €6m and the opening follows a recent announcement by Minister for Education Norma Foley that Our Lady’s Secondary School has also been approved for works under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.

The works will include an extension and refurbishment of three additional SEN classrooms.

“I want to thank Fianna Fáil Minister Norma Foley, for this significant investment and development in Our Lady's Secondary School to make this 15 classroom extension a reality,” said Deputy Smyth.

“These specialist classrooms will be a welcome addition for the school’s special classes. I want to congratule Principal Eddie Kelly, the driving force behind this, along with his teaching staff, his Board of Management and particularly the students that make the learning environment in this school something special.”
