Katie Taylor more motivated than ever before Chantelle Cameron showdown

Katie Taylor says she has never felt more motivated as she bids to gain revenge over Chantelle Cameron in their undisputed world light-welterweight title rematch in Dublin on Saturday night.

Taylor suffered the first defeat of her career by majority decision to Cameron in May and will head into the ring in the unusual role of underdog in front of her home city fans at the 3Arena.

But Taylor has taken heart from the belief that she did not perform to her best in the pair’s first meeting, and that subsequent improvements will be enough to inflict a first career defeat upon Cameron.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been this motivated for a fight,” Taylor told DAZN. “I really just can’t wait to step in there and perform.

“I love my job and I love being involved in these big nights. I don’t mind being the underdog for this fight.

“I’ve obviously put the work in over the last few months, I’ve put my body in the trenches, and once I perform I think that’s going to be enough.”

The pair each weighed in just under 140lbs light-welterweight limit on Friday, with Taylor, having moved up from the lightweight division where she still holds the undisputed crown, marginally the heavier of the two.
