Gardaí issue warning following property stolen from cars in Cavan Town

Property was stolen from three of the vehicles.

Gardaí have issued a warning following multiple reports of car entering in Cavan Town.

The incidents happened through the night of Friday December 8 into the morning of Saturday December 9 in the Harmony Heights area.

It is reported that property from three of the vehicles was stolen.

A Facebook post on the Cavan Monaghan Carda Devision Facebook page revealed "gardai in Cavan received a number of reports of cars been entered while parked in the Harmony Heights area. Property was stolen from some of these vehicles.

An Garda Siochana are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

"Did you notice anyone or anything suspicious in the area. If you can assist please contact the Gardai in Cavan on 049 4368800

Gardaí warned all motorists to be vigilant when parking their vehicles over the festive season.

"This is a busy time of year for opportunist criminals. Please make sure to lock and secure your car or van on every occasion, even when parked at home. Never leave valuables in your vehicle that are visible to the passer by, particularly when out Christmas shopping."
