It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Mary (Mai) Fitzsimons

(née Ryan)

Rassudden, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan / Drombane, Tipperary

Mary(Mai) Fitzsimons, née Ryan, Rassudden, Ballyjamesduff and formly of Drombane, Co Tipperary, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the care of staff on Medical one, Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Francie, son Eamonn, grandson Tyrone, sisters Babs, Josie, Peggy, Breda, Lally, and Anne. Sadly missed by her heart broken sons TJ, Norbert and Martin, daughters Maura & Kay, daughters-in-law Dymphna, Rose and Clare, her brothers Sonny & Ned and sister Nonie, brothers-in-law James & Sean, sisters-in-law Kay & Moira. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.

MAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE

Removal to St Mary's Church Castlerahan on Tuesday January 2nd at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass Wednesday, January 3rd, at 12 noon in St Mary's Church Castlerahan with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House is strictly private to family, close friends and neighbours only.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Virginia Primary Care Day Service care of the funeral director or any family member.

Oliver Denneny

Kilcogy, Cavan / Longford

Oliver Denneny Kilcogy Lower, Co. Cavan and late Moynagh Finea, died peacefully on Sunday the 31st December 2023 surrounded by his loving family and with the excellent care of the nursing staff at the Lisdarn Unit Cavan. Predeceased by his wife Bridie, parents Annie and Jimmie, sister Anna Bríd (Reilly), brothers Sean and Seamus. Sadly missed by his loving children Olive (Tierney), Yvonne (Wauchope), Dermot, Annmarie (O’Shannon), brothers Terry, Tossie and Henny, sisters Mary (Neilon) and Bernie (O’Sullivan), grandchildren, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Reilly’s Funeral Home Kilcogy, N39W1D6 on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Mullahoran. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Killadream, Loughduff, Cavan

Maura died peacefully on Saturday 30th December 2023 with her family and the excellent care of the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bridget.

Sadly missed by her sister Kathleen (Patsy) and her brother Tommy, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Monday evening from 5 p.m. with prayers at 6.30 p.m.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran at 11 a.m.

Interment afterwards in the local cemetery.

On Monday, 1st January 2024, at Drogheda Hospital, surrounded by his devoted family.

Will, will be dearly missed by his heartbroken family; his beloved wife Ruth, children Janet, William, Samuel (Emma), Andrew (Katie), Melissa (Scott) and Mark. Also his sisters Rae and Evelyn (Albert Hunter), brothers Samuel (Noeleen), Jim (Sharon) and Tom (Julie), nieces, nephews and the entire family circle.

The death has occurred of Elizabeth McGee. Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England & formerly Cavanageeragh, Carrickmacross. 3rd December 2023. Peacefully, in Harrogate.

Predeceased by her parents James & Mary and her sisters Kathleen, Ann & Maureen.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her cherished family; her sister Teresa (England) & her brother Paddy (England), her nephews, nieces, relatives & friends.

Elizabeth will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Wednesday, 3rd January, from 5pm until 7pm.

Elizabeth's funeral cortège will leave the Funeral Home on Thursday, 4th January, driving to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Kathleen Duffy (nee Mc Court), Lakeview, Tusker, Broomfield, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan and formerly Coole / Ballybailie, Co.Louth, on Saturday, December 30th 2023, peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her parents Frank and Kathleen, brothers Kevin, John, Paddy and Gerry, sisters Peggy, Eithne and Rosie. Kathleen deeply regretted and remembered by her loving family, husband Tommy, sons Thomas, Arthur, Michael, Gabriel, Robert, Jason, Kieran, Alan and Francis, daughters Regina, Audrey, Sandra, Rachel and Lorna, sons in-law, daughters in-law, her 39 cherished grandchildren, brother Frank, sisters in-law, brothers in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Kathleen will repose at her residence, Lakeview, Tusker (A75EV18) tomorrow Monday (New Years Day) from 2pm until 9pm. Kathleen’s funeral cortège will travel from the family home on Tuesday morning at 11:30am to arrive at St Mary’s Church Lisdoonan for funeral mass at 12noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

and formerly of Pricerite, Market Street, Monaghan, December 30th 2023, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Cathal and her sister Celine (McGrath).

Sadly missed by her sons Philip and Paul, daughters Gillian and Jennifer, daughters in law Anne and Cristina, grandchildren Sophia, Niko and Ethan, sister Maureen (Greenan), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Removal on Thursday (04/01/2024) at 10.15 a.m. arriving, via Mulllaghdun and Market Street, at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Latlurcan.
