Martin’s Garage: A one-stop shop for all your farming needs

Martin’s Garage in Bailieborough is a family-run business that was established in 1969 by Freddie Martin. The business celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019 and, since its inception 55 years ago, the business has been reputed as one of Ireland's leading suppliers of Massey Ferguson tractors.

The company’s core business is the supply and service of new and used tractors and farm machinery to the agricultural community. It also specialises in slurry equipment, fertiliser spreaders and forage machinery with brand names Lille Massey Ferguson, Krone and Abbey available to its customers.

Owner Ronnie Martin says the garage is a one-stop-shop for farmers in Cavan and across Ireland. “Slurry equipment has changed and continues to change because of environmental regulations; it’s all about injection systems now and we have the very latest when it comes to that,” he outlined.

“Tractors have changed too; these days they produce less emissions but are very powerful machines; in fact many of them have automated systems now.”

Martin’s Garage also provides service and maintenance of farm machinery - farmers and landowners come from all over Ireland to avail of this facility. “What we provide has earned us our reputation and I suppose we have been in business for 55 years now and have stood the test of time,” continued Ronnie.

“We have weathered the storms as they say.”

Martin’s Garage will showcase its wares at this year’s Spring Farm Machinery Show at Cavan Equestrian Centre. This will include a selection of tractors and new machinery that has recently come onto the market. Those interested in making purchases on any new machinery will be provided with a low finance option to close the deal!
