Frolics tickets in hot demand

“We’re ready,” declares Susan Willis ahead of the latest instalment of Frolic taking to the Ballyjamesduff stage for the first of a 10-night run.

When the curtain lifts on opening night this Thursday, it will see the culmination of the tireless work that went on unseen to create a feast of comedy and musical entertainment.

Frolics is billed as a sparkling revue of music, song and dance and the extravaganza brings together the combined talents of producers Susan Willis, Patrick Farrelly and Joe Moynagh, and choreographer Lesley Goggins.

“We’ve had six months of rehearsals - starting at two nights a week - building up to four, so obviously that has been a huge commitment with a lot of time spent working on the show.”

Ballyjamesduff Musical Society held their dress and technical rehearsals on Sunday which “went very well,” according to Susan

“Sunday was when they saw all their work come to fruition - it was the first time they got a real feel for what the show is - you’re in character and that’s when it gets very exiting for them.”

The excitement isn’t confined to the cast and crew - as ticket sales are reportedly flying.

Susan explains that tickets for the final weekend are likely to sell out in the coming days, and advises people to seek tickets for the coming days to avoid disappointment.

“There are still tickets for this weekend so I’d advise people to book for those days now.”

Frolics’ ten-night run opens on Thursday, February 29 and runs to Saturday, March 9. Curtain nightly at 8.15pm. Booking Office: 087-9010002.
