Johnny Cronin

7 Catherdal View, Cavan Town, Cavan / Meath / Kilmacud, Dublin

Johnny Cronin, 7 Cathedral View, Cavan Town and formerly of Bective, Navan and Dale Road, Kilmacud, Co. Dublin, March 2nd 2024, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the staff at Oakview Nursing Home, Belturbet.

Predeceased by his loving wife Ita, daughter Paula and sons in law Phelim and John Joe.

Johnny will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by all his family, daughters Carolyn Lee, Sheila Debrito (Kent, England), son Shane (Boston), son in law Ivan, daughter in law Sue, his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, wonderful neighbours, all his relatives and many friends.

Johnny will repose at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12 C821) on Tuesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Wednesday to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick and Felim, Cavan arriving for Funeral Mass at 12.30. Following Mass the cortege will travel to Cullies Cemetery for committal prayers and burial in the family plot. Family flowers only please. John Andy McCabe

Drumheel, Ballinagh, Cavan

John Andy McCabe, Drumheel, Ballinagh, Co Cavan, Sunday 3rd March, in his 99th year. Peacefully in the loving care of his family and staff at Cavan General Hospital. Pre-deceased by his brothers Canon Patrick PP, Michael and James, sisters Annie, Clare, Elizabeth and Madge. Beloved husband of Brigid and loving father of Padraig, Michael, Siobhan and Breda. Sadly missed by his sons in law, daughters in law and his 13 adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at his home on Monday evening from 3.00pm until 7.00pm for family, neighbours and close friends.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan H12RF78 on Tuesday, 5th March from 5 p.m. concluding with prayers at 8 p.m. Removal from his home on Wednesday at 12.00 noon to arrive for Funeral Mass in St. Felim’s Church, Ballinagh at 12.30pm, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Christy McCaffrey

Templeogue, Dublin / Stradone, Cavan

Christy McCaffrey, Templeogue, Co. Dublin, late of Stradone, Co. Cavan and retired member of An Garda Siochana, passed away peacefully on March 2nd 2024 at the great age of 92 yrs, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Jean and father of Mary, Jim, Fr. Kilian, Chris Jr, Helen and David, and wonderful grandad to Kerrie, Lauren, Ryan and Aidan.

Deeply regretted by his brothers and sisters Sr. Helen MSHR, Rita, Florrie and Austin and predeceased by Fr. Jim, Peter, Tommy, Dan, John, Eilish, Patsy, Breda, and Baby Austin.

Will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his extended family, daughters-in-law Anne and Sandy, son-in-law Wolfgang, brother-in-law Christy Higgins, sisters-in-law Mary and Barbara, many nieces and nephews, members of An Garda Siochana, close neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Michael McGovern, Ardlougher, Dowra, Co. Cavan on Saturday March 2nd peacefully in the exceptional care of all the staff in Medical South, Sligo University Hospital.

Predeceased by his wife Anne, parents Michael and Mary, his sister Margaret and brother Bernard (in infancy).

Michael will be sadly missed and remembered by his daughters Martina (Shay), Aisling (Michael), Pauline (Gary) and Yvonne, his adored grandchildren Sophie, Jamie, Cian, Danny, Katie, Tara, Anna and Darren, his dear brother and sisters, Thomas, May (Francie Joe), Bridgie (Sean) and Josephine, his sisters in law Bernie (Francie) and Bernie, his nieces, nephews and many friends.

Michael will repose at his daughter Martina and son in law Shay's home at Derrinvoney, Corry, Drumkeerin, Co. Leitrim N41 CX63 on Monday from 4-8pm.

Funeral mass on Tuesday in St. Colmcille's Church, Newbridge, Dowra on Tuesday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Newbridge Cemetery.

Philip (Phil) Moynagh, Corduff, Ballinagh Co. Cavan, and formerly Legwee, Loughduff, Co. Cavan, Saturday March 2nd peacefully after a short illness at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband and best friend of Ann, treasured Daddy of James (Marie), Cathriona (Mark), Philip (Karen), Ann Marie (Kevin), Mairead (Gerard), Roisin (Conor), Shane and adored Yaya to Annie, Grace and Elodie.

Predeceased by his parents Ned and Kitty. Sadly missed by his wife, children, partners, grand daughters, brothers and sisters Paddy, Maggie, Mary and James, brother's and sister's in law, Aunt Pauline and Uncle Pat, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and many friends.

The death has occurred of John Duffy, Killygally, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully at his home, 3rd March, 2024.

Predeceased by his parents Jay & Roya and sister Margaret Markey. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Kathleen, sons Seán (Sinéad), & Ciarán (Una), grandchildren Jay, Keeley & Ruairí. The death has occurred of Maureen Kiernan (née Farrelly). 'Woodview', Lurgans, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan & formerly Lisagon, Kingscourt, Co Cavan. 2nd March 2024. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by her parents Henry & Mary, her brother Jimmy and her brothers-in-law Peter, Brendan & Martin.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her beloved family; her husband John, her son John Paul & his partner Gráinne, her much-loved grandchildren Jack, Michael & Henry, her sisters Anne, Kathleen, Rose & Margaret, her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Maureen's funeral cortège will leave her home on Tuesday, 5th March, proceeding on foot via Mullinary, Parnell Street & Main Street, to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
