Mostly dry day with some light drizzle

Turning mostly dry today as patchy light rain or drizzle, mainly in the southern half of the country clears westwards by early afternoon, leaving a mix of cloud and sunny spells with just the chance of the odd shower in the east and northeast. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees, mildest in the west and southwest. Moderate to fresh southeast to east winds, strong at times on coasts.

Predominately dry tonight with a mix of cloud and clear spells though some light showers will occur, mainly in the east and south. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees generally, slightly milder along southern coast. Easterly winds will be mostly moderate to fresh but continuing strong on coasts.

Mostly dry tomorrow with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. A few light showers are possible in the east and northeast. During the afternoon, thicker cloud along with some patchy light rain or drizzle will develop in the southwest. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, coolest in Ulster, in moderate to fresh easterly winds, strong on coasts.

Becoming rather cloudy overnight on Friday with some light rain or drizzle at times for southern areas. Lowest temperatures ranging from 1 to 3 degrees in the north and west, with the best of the clear spells, to 5 or 6 degrees in the south. Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds, strong on coasts.

Breezy at times over the weekend with outbreaks of rain developing before becoming drier early next week.

A fair amount of cloud expected on Saturday along with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Driest generally in the west. During the evening, the rain may turn more persistent in southern areas. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in moderate to fresh east to northeast winds.

A good deal of cloud over the south and east of the country on Saturday night with further outbreaks of rain. Drier with clear spells in the north and west. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees in mostly moderate northeast winds.

Sunday will bring further outbreaks of rain expected, especially in the south and east. The rain will become patchier through the evening. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in mostly moderate northeast winds.

Continuing to become drier through the night Sunday with just some patchy light rain or drizzle. Northeasterly winds will generally fall light allowing some fog patches to develop. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees generally, possibly a little lower in parts of the north and west.

Monday and Tuesday: A mix of cloud and sunny spells with scattered light showers. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in light northeasterly breezes.

Further outlook: Some uncertainty for midweek with current indications suggesting a good deal of dry weather though some rain may push into Atlantic areas at times.
