Nearly 50 people hiked the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail for the Mannok organised Aran Sheridan Memorial Walk.

Almost €7.5k raised by Mannok in memory of colleague

Mannok helped raise almost €7,500 (£6,400) recently for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) in memory of their colleague, the late Aran Sheridan.

The leading local manufacturer hosted four fundraising events in memory of Mr Sheridan, a much-loved member of the Mannok Precast team, who sadly passed away while on holiday in Spain in May 2023.

The Aran Sheridan Memorial Walk took place towards the end of last month, on Saturday, February 24, with nearly 50 people taking part in the walk up Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail.

The date coincided with what would have been Aran’s fifth year working with Mannok.

Mannok staff were joined on the walk by members of Aran’s family - wife Paula and two sons, his parents, close family and friends -

as well as members of Omagh Wheelers Cycling Club, of which Mr Sheridan was a member.

Three other fundraising events were also organised by the company for the trust, which helped bring the Fermanagh native home from Spain. The other events included two dress casual days in early December and a Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday, December 20.

Thomas Coyle, general manager, Mannok Precast, commented: “We hope, in some way, the fundraisers organised illustrated the impact that Aran had on us, his colleagues, and on the company during his time at Mannok, and how highly regarded he was.”

He added: “We were also very motivated to support a valuable charity, which we all hope we never need, but we are incredibly grateful to, the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, for helping bring our friend and many other Irish people home to rest.”
