It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Susan Brady

(née Curran)

Derryniggen and formerly Drung, Farnham, Cavan

Susan Brady (nee Curran), Derryniggen, Farnham, formerly of Drung, died on the 12th March 2024, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Virginia Primary Care Centre. Predeceased by her husband John James, parents John and Mary Jane as well as her three sisters and six brothers. Deeply regretted by her loving children, Sean (Maureen), Seamus, Vincent (Imelda), Declan (Marie), Kathleen, Margaret Flanagan (Ronan), Maurice (Ann), Sharon Brady (Michael), Kevin (Jackie), Suzanne Murray (Padraig), Paul and Patrick (Siobhan). Also by her sisters Kathleen Bareikis (Canada) and Rose Langan (Mayo). Sadly missed by her 37 loving grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her sisters in law, Katie Smith (Laragh), Nora Curran (Drung) and Ann Curran (Dublin).

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd., Cavan (H12C821) on Thursday (14th) from 6pm until 9pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am in St. Patrick's Church, Drumcor (H12YP76), followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. House strictly private to family only. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers would be appreciated by the family to Virginia Primary Care Centre Patient Comfort Fund. (née Armstrong)

Corstruce, Ballinagh, Cavan

Anna Martha Magee (nee Armstrong) Corstruce, Ballinagh and formerly of Cornamuckla, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan. Wednesday, 13th March 2024, in her 96th year, peacefully in the loving care of her family and staff of Oakview Private Nursing Home, Belturbet. Predeceased by her loving husband Billy. Much loved mother of Barbara, Albert, Karl, John, Lorna, Iris, Pearl and Olwyn, sadly missed by her sons, daughters, sister-in-law Ruth, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Resting in Lakelands Funeral Home (H12 RF78), Dublin Rd., Cavan on Friday, 15th March, from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Service in Kilmore Cathedral on Saturday, 16th March, at 2pm followed by burial in the Cathedral Parish Graveyard. Family flowers only please, donations in-lieu would be much appreciated to Kilmore Cathedral Restoration Fund c/o Clive Magee Funeral Director or any family member.

Dromod, Shercock, Cavan

Peter McEntee, Dromod, Shercock, Co Cavan died on the 12th March 2024, peacefully in the loving care of his family at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Rose, brothers Pat, Tom and brother-in-law Charlie.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sister Mai O'Reilly, niece Rose, nephews Cathal, Peter and T.P., extended family, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Thursday 14th March from 5pm - 8pm. Funeral to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Killann on Friday 15th March for Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Shercock.

Thomas Moore, Main Street, Ballinagh, Co Cavan, Wednesday 13th March, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of staff in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family, his wife Caroline, son Thomas Jnr and the family circle.

The death has occurred of Gráinne O’Reilly McMahon, Corrygarry, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, A82 K2R1, peacefully at The Mater Private Hospital, Dublin, 13th March 2024.

Predeceased by her parents Patsy and Dympna O’Reilly. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Tom, and daughters Ciara, Bronagh and Dearbhla. Gráinne will be sadly missed by her siblings Fr. Joseph, Barry and Patricia, sister in law Róisín and brother in law Kevin, aunts Mona, Maureen, Eileen, Catherine & Teresa, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces and nephews and many beloved family and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at her home on Friday, 15th March, from 3pm to 8pm. House private at all other times please. Removal on Saturday morning, 16th March, to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, for Funeral Mass at 10am, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society.

Percy French Park, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan / Kilcogy, Cavan

Breege Tierney (nee McCabe) Percy French Park, Ballyjamesduff and formerly Clonlohan, Kilcogy. Wednesday, March 13th (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family and staff at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband Seamus, son Martin and grandchild Valentino.

Deeply regretted by her children; Marie, Thomas, Tony and Michael, her sister Roisin, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, friends, neighbours and her carers who looked after her for the last number of years.

Reposing at Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck on Thursday evening (14th) from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday (16th) in St. Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesduff at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Our Lady of Lourdes, Cemetery, Mullahoran.

Thomas (Dougie) Erskine

Doncaster, England and formerly, Dungannon, Tyrone / Monaghan

The death has occurred of Thomas ‘Dougie’ Erskine of Doncaster, England and formerly of Dungannon, Co. Tyrone and Monaghan, on Saturday, 10th February, peacefully at Doncaster Royal Infirmary surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents May and Johnny, brother Melvin and sister Ann. Dougie will be sorely missed by his wife Bernie, sons Darren and Barry and daughter Kathryn, son in law Shane and 5 cherished grandchildren Leuan, Sophie, Sean, Ciara, and Daisy. Also, his brothers Raymond and Trevor, brothers/sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces.

A service to celebrate and remember Dougie’s life and character was held in Doncaster.

Seán Lennon

Tirogarvan & formerly Killanny, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Seán Lennon. Tirogarvan, Carrickmacross & formerly Killanny. 13th March 2024. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family, his wife Julie and his daughter Shauna, his son-in-law Eoin, his parents John & Lilly, his sister Mary (Enda) and his sisters-in-law Karen (Joe) & Linda, his nephews & nieces; Adrian, Aoife, Paul & Darragh, his aunts, uncles, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Seán will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Thursday, 14th March, from 4pm until 8pm.

Seán's funeral cortège will leave the Funeral Home on Friday, 15th March, driving to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Enda's Cemetery, Killanny.
