Great archive footage of Ballyjamesduff in 1977 captured for RTÉ has surfaced online.

The minute long video is the opening sequence of long-running show ‘Hall’s Pictorial Weekly’. Those who are caught on camera going about their daily life appear bemused to find a TV crew in town.

The series was a platform for Frank Hall to cast a satirical eye on Irish life in the 1970s, and each show would open by featuring the residents of a different town.

The footage appears on CR's Video Vaults YouTube channel.
