Plenty of dry, sunny weather today

This morning will start off cloudy with rain and drizzle in the south and east but it will be dry with clear spells developing in the north and west. The rain will gradually clear away to the southeast through the morning and for the rest of the day there will be plenty of dry and sunny weather. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with a light to moderate northerly wind.

It will become cloudy countrywide early tonight and outbreaks of rain or drizzle will develop in parts of Connacht and Ulster overnight. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees with light and variable winds becoming southwesterly and increasing moderate to fresh, occasionally strong in the west and northwest.

Tomorrow will be breezy and mostly dull. There will be outbreaks of rain or drizzle in the north and west at first, becoming more widespread during the late morning and afternoon. It will become drier in the north and west in the evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees with a moderate to fresh southwesterly wind, occasionally strong in the west and northwest.

Rain and drizzle will clear from the south early on Thursday night. Clear spells will develop in the north and west overnight, along with a few showers. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees with a moderate to fresh westerly wind.

Cooler with blustery showers on Friday and Saturday, followed by rain on Sunday.

Friday will be blustery with sunny spells and showers, mainly in the north and west at first but quickly becoming widespread. Some of the showers will be heavy and there is a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in a moderate to fresh and gusty westerly wind.

Scattered showers will continue on Friday night, some heavy with hail. It will be driest in the southeast. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees in a moderate to fresh and gusty westerly wind.

Windy on Saturday with sunny spells and widespread showers. Some will be heavy and there is a chance of hail. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in a fresh to strong and gusty west to northwest wind.

It will become drier on Saturday night as showers become lighter and isolated. Long clear spells will develop and winds will ease. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.

Sunday will start off dry with just isolated showers, however cloud will increase from the west during the morning and rain will spread across the country during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light to moderate, variable winds.
