Mannok in hydrogen fuel truck trial

Mannok is exploring the integration of Hydrogen Fuel Cell HGVs into its fleet as part of the company's drive to become a net zero carbon producer by 2050.

The construction products manufacturer has entered into a strategic partnership with Glasgow-based Hydrogen Vehicle Systems (HVS) to begin trialling Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (HFCEV) from late 2025.

Following this phase, Mannok will be in a favourable position to initiate the conversion of part of its fleet to these cutting edge, zero-emission HGVs.

After signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOU), Kevin Lunney, chief operations officer for Mannok, said the local firm is “excited about this partnership” with HVS, adding that it “aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and innovation”.

“By exploring the integration of hydrogen fuel cell HGVs into our fleet, we are taking a crucial step towards achieving our net-zero carbon goals.”
