Scattered showers today, touch of frost tonight

Many places cloudy today, Monday, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Sunnier breaks across southern counties but scattered showers here too, some possibly heavy. Highest temperatures 8 to 13 degrees in light to moderate easterly breezes.

Showers becoming isolated in the south and west tonight leaving clear spells. Cloudier skies persisting in the east and north with rain and drizzle becoming lighter and patchier overnight. Winds will be light northerly or variable which will allow some mist and fog patches to develop. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees, coldest where clear breaks prevail with a touch of frost possible.

Mostly dry to begin tomorrow, Tuesday with variable cloud and sunshine and just isolated showers. Cloud will tend to increase through the afternoon with showers breaking out, merging to longer spells of rain in the south towards evening. Light variable winds becoming light to moderate southeast to east. Top temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees.

Clear spells and showers on Tuesday night merging to longer spells of rain at times, especially in the east and south. Lowest temperatures 2 to 4 degrees in light northerly or variable winds.

Sunny spells and scattered showers on Wednesday. Highest temperatures 11 to 13 degrees in light variable breezes.

A spell of persistent and locally heavy rain will extend nationwide on Wednesday night. Lowest temperatures 4 to 6 degrees in moderate southeast winds.

Showers, some heavy, merging at times to longer spells of rain on Thursday. Highest temperatures 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds. Becoming mainly dry with clear spells overnight. Lowest temperatures of 6 or 7 degrees.

Sunny spells and scattered showers on Friday, more persistent rain again later in the south. Highest temperatures 12 to 15 degrees as light to moderate southerly winds freshen later.

Low pressure dominating through next weekend with continued showers or longer spells of rain.
