A man is set to appear before Cavan District Court this morning, charged in connection with the seizure of almost €200,000 of herbal cannabis in County Monaghan yesterday.

Gardaí have charged a man (aged in his 30s) who was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, April 10, following a joint operation between An Garda Síochána and Revenue Customs Service offices in County Monaghan.

A co-ordinated intelligence-led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Louth Cavan Monaghan Crime Hub and the Revenue Customs Service As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and distribution of controlled drugs.

During this operation approximately 9.7 kilograms of herbal cannabis, valued at an estimated €194,800, was seized (pending analysis).

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
