Cavan Town healthcare centre extension

Plans have been lodged with Cavan County Council for alterations to the ground floor of an existing commercial premises in the centre of Cavan Town for use and to be integrated into ongoing designs for a new healthcare facility next door.

The two properties where the proposed healthcare centre development is taking place are the former Melbourne Cafe and its neighbour Cavan Gifts, which has since relocated to a new site across the road.

Planning has already been granted for the healthcare centre to be incorporated at No’s 95, 96 Main Street, and now Labelbrook Ltd want to extend the footprint into the adjacent former commercial site.

Labelbrook, the company behind a 10-year lease with HSE Estates for use of the former Jackson’s Garage as a new Women & Children’s Service Outpatients Department (OPD), also reached a 10 year agreement with the HSE for additional clinical accommodation at No’s 95, 96 Main Street.

Works are ongoing, and the health centre, once complete, will include 11 clinical rooms, a sensory room, admin offices, and sanitary facilities.

Labelbrook will be leasing the 886.60m2 facility for a minimum of 10 years to a maximum 30.

A car park extension has been scrapped and a new car park will be integrated within the parking provision for the whole site.

A decision in relation to the plans is due May 21.
