Smyth receives update on Ballybay Primary Care Centre

By way of Parliamentary Question, local Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth, asked the Minister for Health to provide an update on Ballybay Primary Care centre and the expected timeline for completion of the building.

In response, the HSE confirmed the commencement of construction works on the Ballybay Primary Care Centre from January 2024 and said the construction phase is expected to take between 16 and 18 months.

On completion, the HSE services that will be provided from this Primary Care Centre include: Public Health Nursing; Occupational Therapy; Speech and Language Therapy; Physiotherapy; Social Work; Podiatry; Psychology and Dietetics.

A number of Bookable Rooms will also be available for other visiting services. There will also be GP services located within the Centre.

Deputy Smyth said: "This Centre will enhance and increase community health services in Ballybay and the surrounding areas, reducing pressure on hospital services and making access to healthcare as convenient as possible.”
