It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Niamh Kiernan

(née Young)

Billis, Cavan Town, Cavan

Niamh Kiernan (nee Young), Billis , Cavan Town, Saturday April 20th 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Tommy and Mai and her infant sister Cáit.

Beloved wife and best friend of Jerome and loving mother of Grace, Jane and Beth. Niamh will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken husband , daughters, her sisters Sinead (Chris) and Ciara (Nauman), brother Tomás (Sandra), her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, all her extended family and many, many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Niamh will repose at her home in Billis on Monday from 3pm until 7pm. A shuttle bus will be in operation from Drumalee Football Club car park (H12DY88). Niamh's Funeral Mass will take place in the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan on Tuesday at 2pm. Burial will take place afterwards in Cullies Cemetery.

Benny Smith, Ballyjamesduff and formerly Killatain, Carrickaboy, Co Cavan.

Sunday April 21st peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of Lisdarn Unit, Cavan. Beloved son of the late John and Mary Smith. Pre-deceased by his parents brother Michael and his wife Margaret and his infant brother John.

Sadly missed by his loving sisters Mary (Howard) California and Helena Ballyjamesduff, brothers Jimmy (Rose) Clareboy and Peter (Rose) Killatain, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The death has occurred of Nancy Dawson (née Lynch) of Ballinlong, Knocklong, Co. Limerick and late of Cavan, who passed away peacefully at her residence on April 18th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Pat and loving mother of Kelly (O'Connor) and Nicola. Sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law John, grandchildren Evan, Éidhe, and Niamh, sister Mary, brothers Terry and Johnny, sister-in-law Margaret and Mary Kate, brothers-in-law Tom and John, nieces, nephews, relatives, and her many friends.

MAY SHE REST IN PEACE

Lying in repose in her residence Ballinlong, Knocklong (V35 PP84) on Sunday April 21st, from 2 to 6pm. Reception into St. Joseph's Church, Knocklong on Monday 22nd for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by service in Shannon Crematorium at 3pm.

The death has occurred of Daniel (Dan) Dillane, Edenburt, Virginia, Co. Cavan, 20 April 2024.

Dan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Rose and his brothers Bob and Tim.

Beloved father of Marie (Tommy), Eamon (Moya) and Catherine (Kieran).

Remembered by his grandchildren Shauna, Eoghan, Aine, Laura, Emma, Niamh and Tara, his brothers Ned and Pat, his sister-in-law Mary-Ann, his nieces, nephews and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home Bailieborough Rd., Virginia (A82 YV58) on Sunday afternoon from 4 o’clock until prayers at 8 o’clock. Removal on Monday to arrive to Saint Matthew's Church Maghera for 11 o’clock Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Siobhan Grealy, 25 Devin Reilly Terrace, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan. Siobhan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and the staff and palliative team at Willowbridge, Monaghan General Hospital, Sunday 21st April 2024.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Susan and her loving sister Fiona.

Cherished and adored sister of Maureen, Dympna, Patricia, Peggy, Bridge and Michelle, Siobhan will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, her many friends and by all who knew and loved Siobhan

Siobhan will repose at her home, 25 Devin Reilly Terrace, Monaghan on Monday from 11am - 9pm. House private to family on Sunday and again on Tuesday morning, please. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am at St. Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

The death has occurred of Patrick Hurson, Skeagh, Smithboro, Co Monaghan, Friday 19th April, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff in Cavan General Hospital. Patrick will be forever loved by his wife Mary, his children James, Joe, Sarah, Catherine,Gabriel, & Stephen,his son-in-law Dave, daughters-in-law, Christina, Debbie and Cariona. his adored and cherished grandchildren Luke, Matthew, Anna, Lucy and William, his brother, brothers & sisters in law, nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Patrick will repose at his son James' residence (H18DT82) on Sunday afternoon from 2pm until 8pm. Funeral procession will leave his family home on Monday morning (22nd) to arrive to St Mary's Church, Threemilehouse, for 11am funeral Mass with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

James (Jimmy) Larkin

Peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hopital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by parents Margaret and Joseph.

Sadly missed by his brothers Joe and Peter, sisters Bernie, Marie, Margaret and Julie, brothers and sister in laws and all his nieces and nephews.
