Wednesday's forecast is for a mix of cloudy periods and sunny spells in the morning, that will build later in the afternoon or early evening.

It will stay largely dry too in a light northerly breeze and highs of 11 to 13 degrees before becoming cloudy in the west and north later in the night with some light patchy rain developing too.

“Clear spells elsewhere and staying mostly dry too. Winds will fall light overnight with lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees with some mist patches also,” say Met Eireann, who predict outbreaks of rain pushing in across western and northern counties from Thursday.
