It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Fr. Jim Brady

Loughduff, Cavan / Kiltegan, Wicklow

Brady, Fr. Jim (St. Patrick's Missionary Society, Kiltegan, Co. Wicklow, and formerly Middletown, Loughduff, Co. Cavan, diocese of (Lodwar, Kenya, Archdiocese of Zambia) April 25, 2024, unexpectedly, but peacefully.

Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Julia, brothers Phil and Sean, sisters Bessie, Susie, Molly, Rose, Agnes, Teresa and Veronica. Sadly missed by his brothers Danny and Tony (Mullahoran) and Maggie (London), sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, relatives, neighbours, friends, and his Society Family.

Reposing on Saturday April 27th from 3.00pm - 6.00pm at St. Joseph's Church, Loughduff, Co. Cavan (H12 F968), followed by mass at 6.30pm. Funeral mass on Sunday April 28th at 12.00 noon in St. Joseph's Church, Loughduff. Burial aferwards in St. Patrick's Missionary Society, Kiltegan, Wicklow (W91 Y022).

Eunice Faulkner

(née McElwaine)

Lataster, Lisgrey, Virginia, Cavan

Eunice Faulkner née McElwaine, St. Joseph's Private Nursing Home, Oldcastle Rd, Virginia and Lataster, Lisgrey, Virginia, Co. Cavan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at St Joseph's Nursing Home on Thursday 25th April 2024.

Beloved wife of the Late Hugh Faulkner and loving mother of the Late Tom.

Sadly missed by her loving sons John, Robert and Hugh, daughters Hazel Pain, Eunice McQuade, Norma Marshall, Gloria Gould, Heather Lipscombe and Velma Curran, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Resting at Mathews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Rd, Virginia, (A82YV58) on Friday evening from 5pm - 8pm. Funeral leaving her family home on Saturday 27th April at 1.30pm for funeral service in Billis Parish Church at 2pm with burial afterwards in adjoining Churchyard.

Family home private to family and friends. Family flowers only please, donations if so desired to St Joseph's Nursing Home Patient Comfort Fund, care of Freddie Kettyle undertaker or any family member.

Tom Whelan

Drumbracken, Magheracloone, Monaghan / Kingscourt, Cavan / New Ross, Wexford

The death has occurred of Tom Whelan, Drumbracken, Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan and formerly of New Ross, Co. Wexford, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 25th April, 2024.

Tom is pre-deceased by his wife Lana, his parents Martin & Agnes and brother Larry. Deeply regretted by his daughters Sandra & Karen, sons Paul and Mark, son-in-law Stephen, daughters-in-law Nicole and Aoife. Sadly missed by his brothers Eddie & Martin, sisters Maureen & Ann, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest In Peace

Tom will repose at Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Kingscourt, (A82R3W2) on Sunday, 28th April, from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, 29th April, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, at 10am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
