Presentation of iPads to Carrigabruise NS
Pupils at Carrigabruise National School got a boost to their e-learning resources last week with the generous donation of IT equipment to the east Cavan school.
Former pupil and local entrepreneur, Brian McHugh of Envirobead, sponsored 25 new iPads for the school. He expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to give back to the community that nurtured him.
“At Envirobead, we believe in investing in the future, and what better way to do so than by supporting the educational endeavours of our local schools. We are honoured to contribute to Carrigabruise National School’s mission of providing a dynamic and enriching learning environment.”
Principal Una Keogan-McDonnell was thrilled with the donation and expressed her gratitude on behalf of the entire school community.
“It marks a pivotal moment in the school’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in education,” she told the Celt.
In addition to Mr McHugh’s contribution, the Parents Association at Carrigabruise National School also supported the school’s technological advancement through various fundraising efforts.
“Together, their combined efforts have empowered the school to provide cutting-edge IT resources that will undoubtedly enrich the learning journey of students for years to come,” said Ms Keogan-McDonnell.
“The generosity of Brian McHugh and the tireless efforts of the Parents Association exemplify the true spirit of community and dedication to education. This invaluable contribution will empower our students with enhanced learning opportunities, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.”
Annie Dunne and Niamh Bradley McBreen, co-chairpersons of the Parents Association, echoed the principal’s sentiments, emphasising the collective effort behind this milestone achievement.
“As parents, we are immensely proud to have played a part in securing these vital resources for our children’s education. The collaboration between the school, community, and local businesses like Envirobead highlights the strength of our community and our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation.”
The digital resources were presented to the school during Grand Parents and Special Persons Day last Friday, May 10. The special afternoon of celebration included pupils’ performances of songs, poems and dances.
