Maguire leads by two in London

Cavan’s Leona Maguire heads the leaderboard in both the individual and team competitions at the Aramco Team Series in London after carding a one-under round today.

Maguire is teaming up with English player Liz Young, Spain's Marta Sanz Barrio and amateur Yana Wilson.

"We were all making a few birdies today which always helps and there were no dropped shots on the team card either which I think helps a lot in these conditions," said Maguire after her first round yesterday.

"I think we had a nice atmosphere, a nice team. It was very comfortable out there and nice to roll in a few.

"It will be a bit of a quick turnaround, a long day. It will be a bite to eat then straight to bed and we’ll get out early in the morning again."

Maguire also leads the way in the individual competition after producing a bogey-free seven-under 66 on the first day at Centurion Club and at the time of writing, she has just finished her second round on one-under to lead by two shots from England’s Georgia Hall.

Leona, who has won twice on the LPGA Tour, will represent Ireland at the Olympics in Paris later this summer.
