A new stylist at Trevor Francis

The busy and popular Trevor Francis hair salon is set to welcome a talented new stylist to its Cavan premises later this month, meaning there will be five stylists available to choose from. Taking appointments from March 10, Orla McElligott has been hair dressing for over 20 years. She learned the trade in Grafters Hair Company in Longford, where she spent the first 10 years of her career. “In this time I learnt very quickly that I had a love for hair dressing and over the years worked with some great girls,” Orla said.

She then went on to work for Scissors Sisters on Bridge Street in Cavan and later Cut and Style hair salon before it closed its doors. The stylist is “very excited” to start with the team in Cavan.

Orla is keen to share her “passion” for cutting and styling, colouring, highlighting and up styling with those in Cavan.

Master stylist and owner of Trevor Francis, Fran Smith, who also has a salon in Longford, said he is “delighted” to be welcoming Orla on board.

Fran said the “quality” of the service provided at Trevor Francis is what makes them stand out among other salons, with the business “thriving” on Cavan’s Main Street.

The salon provides a wealth of experience spearheaded by Fran, who was on the artistic team with Peter Mark.

“My whole job was training young staff and getting them up to a good level,” he said, which is experience that he has brought to his own chain.

Hairdressing since the early 90s, Fran also set up the first online hair school in the world in 2005, creating “several new techniques for hairdressing” and receiving over 30,000 visits on the site.

“Everybody in this industry knows who I am, everybody with anything got to do with hairdressing, they know who I am because I’m renowned for my abilities to just create haircuts.”

The salon in Cavan is “very busy”, a credit to their professionalism and customer satisfaction rates.

“The customers are very happy and we’re getting busier and busier, we’re growing rapidly.”

Highlights, colours and hair extensions all feature in the stylists’ specialities.

As master stylist, Fran is “always looking for something better” and ensures the team use the best techniques.

Whether coming in for a special occasion or your routine hair appointment, the team at Trevor Francis are always “price sensitive” with constant offers available to customers.

“It has to be an affordable price for people to get their hair done regularly,” he said.

“We do really high quality at an affordable price, it’s not out of your reach.”
