Gemma McVeigh

Cavan / Donegal / Fermanagh

The death has occurred of Gemma McVeigh Cavan / Donegal / Fermanagh.

With broken hearts and immeasurable sadness, we share the devastating loss of our beloved Gemma McVeigh, who passed away peacefully on Friday, 7th March, surrounded by her loving family in the Palliative Care Unit at Omagh Hospital.

Gemma was cherished beyond words and will be forever missed by her adored son Oisín Doran (Eimear), her devoted partner Stephen Kelly, her heartbroken parents Michael and Kitty, and her beloved brothers and sisters Ronan (Elaine), Michelle (Kevin), Aisling (John), Marie Louise (Aidan), and Niall (Riona). She was a treasured aunt and godmother to James, Orlagh, Kate, Luke, Conáll, Laoise, Méabh, Senán, Michael, Etaoin, Lugh, and Solan, each of whom she loved so dearly.

Gemma will be reposing at her parents’ home, Tirconaill Lodge, Sligo Road, Enniskillen BT74 7JY, from 2-9pm on Saturday, 8th March and from 4-8pm Sunday 9th March 2025.

Her funeral will leave the family home on Monday, 10th March, morning at 11:30am for 12 noon Requiem Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Enniskillen, followed by burial in Cross Cemetery. House strictly private to immediate family on Monday morning.

John O'Donoghue

Bailieborough Road, Virginia, Cavan / Templeogue, Dublin

The death occurred of John O'Donoghue, Bailieborough Road, Virginia, Cavan / Templeogue, Dublin on March 6th, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of the late Maureen. Loving father of Paul, Sean, Ray, Caitriona and Karl. Cherished grandfather to one grandson and thirteen granddaughters. Dear brother of Margaret and the late PJ.

John will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters-in-law Niamh, Audrey and Ros, son-in-law Paul, brothers-in-law Sean and Tim, sister-in-law Rosemary, as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, his wonderful carers, and his many, many friends.

Reposing at his home on Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82 XY77), on Sunday evening from 4-6pm. Removal on Monday morning to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11 am, followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetery, Dublin.

Margaret Corr (née Sullivan)

Terenure, Dublin / Cavan Town, Cavan

The death occurred of Margaret Corr (née Sullivan), formerly of Cavan Town on March 6th, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the tender care of the staff at Milllbury NH, Navan.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Felim and adored son Brian, her treasured sisters Marie and Ann. Loved and adored mother of Fiona and Maeve. She will be deeply missed by her devoted family, sons-in-law Darra MacNamara and Cormac Daly, her adoring grandchildren ‘The Dotes’ - Yollie, Evan, Becky, Ilannah, Cillian, Aoibhinn and Fionn, brother Brian, sisters Breda and Catherine, nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Fanagan’s Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham Monday, 10th March from 5-7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 11th March at 10.30am in Terenure College Chapel, followed by burial in Killygarry Cemetery, Cavan. Expected arrival time is 2pm.

Kathleen McKevitt (née Matthews)

The death occurred of Kathleen McKevitt (née Matthews), Lisgall, Carrickmacross, Monaghan on March 6, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her cherished family at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by her husband Tom, her son Adrian, her parents Michael & Catherine and her brother Joe.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her beloved family; Patrick (Anna), Collette (Mickey-Joe), Vincent (Maeve), Kieran (Anne), Fintan (Jackie), Sandra (Kieran), Stephen (Louise) & Gordon (Rachel), her twenty nine much-loved grandchildren; Darren, Natasha, Michaela, Alisha, Cian, Oisín, Dáire, Conor, Ella, Lilly, Abbie, Kyeira, Alana, Zara, Mia, Tom, Kieran, Sophie, Emma, Dylan, Megan, Jack, Shayne, Kaelum, Corey, Ava, Jason, Frankie & Jake and her great-grandchildren Laylah-Rose & Rian, her brothers Tommy, Eugene & Noel and her sisters Maureen Gainford & Patricia Duffy, her extended family, friends & neighbours.

Kathleen will repose at her home, Lisgall A81 PW88, on Saturday, 8th & Sunday, 9th March, from 3-8pm. House private at all other times.

The death occurred of Rita Woods (née Hamill), Blaeberry Walk, Castleblayney, Monaghan and Forest Hill London on Wednesday March 5th, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased her parents Mae and Tommy, brother Arthur and sister Marie.

Rita, remembered with love by her husband Peter, son Jason, daughter Petrina, brother Brendan, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family neighbours and many friends.

Rita's Funeral cortège will arrive to St Mary's Church Castleblayney on Saturday afternoon for Funeral Mass at 1pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private please and on the morning of the funeral.

The death occurred of Valeriys Laurens, 2 Derrlylurgan Court, Cavan Rd, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital on Thursday March 6th surrounded by his loving family and the dedicated nursing staff who cared for him.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Lyudmyla, cousin Andriy, all his relatives and friends. Funeral service at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 10.30am with removal afterwards to the new cemetery at St Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesdufff arriving at approximately 11.30am for burial.

Séamus O'Donnell

The death occurred of Séamus O'Donnell, Dublin / Arva, Cavan on the 4th March 2025, peacefully, in the wonderful care of St. Gabriel's Ward, Our Lady’s Hospice.

Dearly loved father of Dearbhaile and husband of the late Conchessa (McCourt). Deeply regretted by his loving daughter, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
