Maxwell appointed to three Oireachtas Committees
Fine Gael Deputy David Maxwell has been appointed to three Oireachtas Committees - Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement; Fisheries and Maritime Affairs; and Public Petitions and the Ombudsman.
Speaking after his appointments, David Maxwell said there is a lot of work to be undertaken on all three committees, which will be of immense importance to the people of the Cavan/Monaghan Constituency.
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck into this work and delighted to have been appointed to these Oireachtas Committees by An Tánaiste and Fine Gael Party Leader, Simon Harris.
“It is an honour to be part of any Oireachtas committee and with that honour comes important obligations; to scrutinise draft legislation and the work of Ministers and Government departments, as well as to advise on policy issues and to engage with stakeholders.”
The former Monaghan councillor said he is looking forward to the work and deciding on priorities areas.
“I take this appointment very seriously and endeavour to serve on this committee with commitment and integrity,” Deputy Maxwell said.
