Bar licences transferred in Ballinagh and Kingscourt
A judge has approved the ad interim transfer of a bar operating licence in respect of the Crannóg Bar (Cronin's) on Main Street, Ballinagh.
The application by David Trimble of RTG Express Properties Limited was moved before Judge Raymond Finnegan at a sitting of Cavan District Court last week.
The company has a registered address at M3 North Ring Road Business Park, Old Swords Road, Santry, Dublin.
The licence was held by Andrew Cronin.
The Cavan court heard that Mr Trimble has worked in the bar trade for the past 20 years, and informed Judge Finnegan when asked that the “opportunity arose” to take over the running of the landmark Ballinagh business last year.
He gave sworn undertakings with respect to implementing the liquor laws regarding serving persons under the age of 18, and to provide gardaí with access to CCTV if required.
There was no garda objection, and Judge Finnegan wished Mr Trimble the best of luck with his new venture.
Kingscourt transfer
A similar application came before Judge Finnegan with regards to M&F's Bar on Main Street, Kingscourt.
An ad interim order had come before Cavan District Court under the name of Séan Farrelly back in March.
He purchased the premises, but has since leased the property out to Séan Walsh of Rocks Road, Kingscourt.
Mr Walsh appeared before Judge Finnegan, represented by solicitor Rita Martin, to confirm that he is familiar with the licensing laws and also providing the court with various undertakings.
Again, there was no garda objection.
