New spa therapist traineeship
Cavan and Monaghan Education Training Board (CMETB) and Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort have joined forces to launch a new Spa Therapist Traineeship commencing in September 2025.

This partnership allows us to share our knowledge and expertise for wellness while assisting trainees to gain the tools they need to thrive in a dynamic and very rewarding industry."
Successful participants will benefit from mentorship by experienced professionals, access to industry-standard equipment and products, and real-world experience.
"Graduates will be well positioned to take up employment with us or indeed one of our properties within the TMR hotel group, locally or even internationally. There are also possibilities of pathways into further qualifications within the wellbeing industry," added Ms Canning.
The traineeship is 10 months in duration. It combines 30 weeks of classroom-based training at Cavan Institute's state-of-the-art FET Campus with 13 weeks of hands-on experience at the Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort. Participants will earn ITEC Beauty Therapy Awards, internationally recognised qualifications that open doors to a rewarding career in the beauty therapy industry.
Michelle Tilson, Recruitment Officer for CMETB, highlights the accessibility and support provided by the course: "This traineeship is co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Union, so there are no course fees. Additionally, trainees receive financial supports including training, meal, and travel allowances, and access to the National Childcare Scheme. Applications are welcome from individuals seeking employment or those in existing jobs looking to upskill or reskill. School leavers with no prior work experience are also encouraged to apply.”
Information event
