Emergency services attend fire at retail park

Staff from some other neighbouring shops evacuated as precaution.

Multiple units of Cavan Fire Brigade are in attendance dealing with the outbreak of fire at the rear of a premises in the local retail park.

The emergency services are in attendance at Dealz premises at the Lakeland Retail Park on the Dublin Road outside Cavan Town.

The incident was reported shortly after 2:20pm and emergency services arrived quickly at the scene. Two units of Cavan Fire Brigade were back up by unit that attended by nearby Belturbet.

Staff from some other neighbouring shops have been evacuated and the businesses closed as a precaution.

The blaze was brought under control and crews managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the main retail unit or neighbouring properties.
