Planting seeds of imagination

An impressive programme of events has been arranged across County Cavan for Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of free creative activities for children and young people under the age of 18 years. Here is one of our top five highlights...

Join local artist Anna Wiercioch at Arva Library for three exciting, hands-on art workshops designed to spark imagination and creativity in young minds, while also sharing the important '3 R's' message- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Aimed at children aged 8–13, these fun-filled sessions include everything from ice cream-inspired collages to eco-friendly crafts.

In the final workshop at Arvagh Library, Market House, on June 5 (6-7.30pm), participants will upcycle flower pots and plant their own greenery, combining art with sustainability.

These vibrant creations will be proudly displayed in a public exhibition at Arvagh Library on June 7 as part of the Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations where there will also be mural painting, a circus skills workshop, and more.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to explore new skills, express themselves, and contribute to a community art display,” says Anna.
