Over 1,000 lots in Victor Mee Summer Garden Sale
Timed to follow Bloom 2025, Victor Mee Auctions offers the perfect next step for green-fingered enthusiasts inspired to transform their own outdoor spaces.
One of Ireland’s most charming and visually spectacular auction events is back, as Victor Mee Auctions proudly announces the return of its annual Summer Garden Sale on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
Now a firmly-established highlight of the annual Irish auction calendar, this two-day sale features over 1,000 curated lots of garden statuary, furniture, and architectural features.
This year’s sale is marked by a celebratory and playful theme, a magnificent showcase of animal garden statuary, with a particular focus on native Irish wildlife, large-scale bronzes, and whimsical collector pieces.
Speaking ahead of the sale, auctioneer Victor Mee believes that to “make the most” of the weather this summer, “we need to make the most of our gardens.”
“It’s important to us here that the Summer Garden Sale catalogue reflects that sentiment, offering buyers something special, characterful and unique.
“We want people to buy things that they really love,” he explained.
The auctioneer explained how they are seeing “huge demand” for character pieces that connect people to nature.
“This year’s animal statuary collection captures that perfectly, especially the native Irish animals which resonate deeply with our bidders.”
He said the auction house is “bursting” with eccentricities and large-scale stand-out pieces, in addition to those more elegant, classic, timeless furniture and decorative lots.
Irish Wildlife
Irish animals and countryside charm, will be a stand-out theme at this year’s auction, with an extensive and visually captivating offering of bronze and cast-iron statuary representing a host of beloved native species. Buyers will discover an array of finely sculpted Irish hares, horses, sheep, ducks, frogs, pigs, and red squirrels, capturing both a sense of natural realism and artistic flair.
The team at Victor Mee Auctions has commented on the growing popularity of outdoor animal sculptures in their sales and believe that these sculptures are increasingly being used to “add character and a sense of whimsy to gardens of all scales.”
“They serve as focal points and conversation starters, reflecting homeowners' or hospitality venue’s personalities and interests.
“From life-like representations of native wildlife to abstract interpretations, these pieces can enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces,” the auctioneer commented.
Statement pieces
Meanwhile, collectors seeking statement garden centrepieces will be thrilled by the sale’s larger-than-life offerings, which includes a life-size bronze racehorse and jockey mid-jump, among many other pieces.
The auction will also feature many show-stopping pieces of fine garden furniture and outdoor living pieces, as well as stone statuary expertly selected for quality and design. Each piece in the sale has been individually selected by the expert team, with many held back throughout the year to ensure the Garden Sale catalogue is a “showstopper”.
