Inspiration for women in business

More than 60 members of the Cavan Women in Business Network (CWBN) came together last Wednesday, June 11, in the Cavan Crystal Hotel for a dynamic evening of networking, learning and inspiration.

An initiative of Local Enterprise Office Cavan, the event featured a CWBN Member Spotlight and a mini-workshop titled ‘The Power of Connection: Communicating with Confidence and Clarity’.

Tara McGovern, Business Advisor at Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan, encouraged anyone starting or growing a business to reach out and engage with the Cavan LEO team.

The keynote speaker, Margaret McKeon-Boyle of Extensive PR & Training, delivered an engaging and empowering presentation on the importance of effective communication in business. Her session was packed with practical tips and real-world strategies designed to boost clarity and confidence.

Showcasing local talent in the CWBN Member Spotlight was one of the highlights of the evening where 11 members took to the stage to share their business journeys and offerings.

Looking ahead to National Women’s Enterprise Day 2025, in her role as CWBN Coordinator, Margaret McKeon-Boyle announced exciting details for the day, which will take place on Thursday, October 16, at Farnham Estate Golf & Spa Resort. Guest speakers will include the inspirational Sammy Leslie of Castle Leslie, Monaghan and Belinda O’Neill of Be Inspired to Be.

A highlight of the announcement was the news that Sandra Coote of Crafts of Ireland, a long-standing member of the Cavan Women in Business Network, has been selected as the official Local Enterprise Office Cavan Ambassador for National Women’s Enterprise Day 2025 — a proud recognition of her contribution to enterprise in the region.

The Cavan Women in Business Network will break from events for the summer months but will remain active on all social media channels supporting its members.
