The art of summer

‘Summertime and the Living is Easy’ resonates as Solas Art Gallery creates an evocative ‘interior dialogue’ of the essence of Summer for the viewer on the walls of the Island Theatre in Ballinamore.

This eclectic display for this Summer Group Exhibition brings a dynamic array of artistic mediums from over 30 artists, some familiar and others new.

The various art mediums include oils, mixed media, collage, acrylics, photography, encaustic, aerosol, ink, decorators emulsion, monoprints, poetry, digital art, watercolours and sculptural embroidery. It promises to be an inspiring interaction with more than 70 artworks.

Head along to Solas Art Gallery this Friday, June 27 at 7.30pm for the official opening by singer, songwriter, guitarist and broadcaster Charlie McGettigan. You never know, he may even sing a song or two. Refreshments will also be served. The Summer Group exhibition will continue until August 29.
