Repairs sought for apartment damaged by storm
Cavan County Council is considering an application for planning permission to carry out alterations to the facade of an apartment block in Belturbet, which was substantially damaged during Storm Éowyn earlier this year.
Erne View Management Limited has lodged the plans with local authority planners. The proposed works comprise of changing the stone finish at Erne View Apartments to match the existing render on the property at Castle Street and Patrick Street.
Significant damage was caused to the brickwork facade by Storm Éowyn, which sent tonnes of heavy brickwork tumbling onto the street below.
The scene was subsequently cordoned off by Belturbet Fire Brigade but later reopened to traffic once the scene was cleared.
It is estimated the cost of repairs could stretch into the tens of thousands of euros.
