Betty O'Reilly
(née Tierney)
Callanagh, Kilcogy, Cavan
Betty died peacefully on Thursday 3rd July 2025. in her 96th year in the loving care of the staff at Sheelin Nursing Home, Mountnugent.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas, sister May, brothers Thomas and Seamus. Sadly missed by her son Thomas, daughters Catherine and Frances, grandchildren, sons in law, daughter in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home, Kilcogy N39W1D6 on Friday evening from 6pm. to 8 pm.
Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran (N39HN84) on Saturday at 12 noon.
Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Laurence (Larry) Smyth
Knocknagillagh, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan
The death has occurred of Laurence (Larry) Smyth, Knocknagillagh, New Inns, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan. Thursday, July 3rd, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, in his 94th year. Predeceased by his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Peggy.
Deeply regretted by his loving wife Anna, son Feilim and daughters Patricia and Martina. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Olivia (Eugene), Nicola, Evanne (Gavin), Dwayne (Artressa), Regina (Thomas), Karla, Dominic, Niall, Ciara, Clare, Niamh, Holly, Carrie and Aifric, great grandchildren Sofia, Jaxon, Ayda and Azayis, sons-in-law Eugene and Liam, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Michael Leddy and his wife Maisie, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lakeland’s Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan tomorrow Friday from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Saturday to arrive at St. Dympna’s Church, Upper Lavey for Funeral Mass at 1pm following by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Jim Connolly, Cloughvalley, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Thursday 3rd July 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family in the tender loving care of the staff of Castleross Nursing Home. Predeceased by his wife Ann, and his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed with love by his family Derek (Jenny), Leona (Darren), Deirdre (Shane), Linda (Danny) and Barry (Melissa), his grandchildren Shannon, Lee, Kyle, Chloe, Abbie, Adam, Aaron, Oisín, Caitlín, Erín, Luke, Colleen, Rian, Shauna, Dylan and Leah, great-grandson Kayden, sisters Kathleen, Rosie and Eileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at his residence on Friday afternoon from 4pm to 8.30pm. Removal on Saturday from his residence arriving for Requiem Mass to St. Patrick’s Church, Magheracloone Upper, A81 KD72 at 12.30pm. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carrickmacross, (approx 2pm).

Deeply regretted and sadly missed with love by his loving wife Celine, son Alan, daughters Helen and Divine, parents Joseph and Melba, sisters Ligaya and Katie, brother Damante, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Removal from Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross on Saturday afternoon arriving for Requiem Mass to St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross A81 K253 at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carrickmacross.
