Gardaí urge motorists to 'slow down'

IN THE past week, Gardaí in Cavan-Monaghan have detected a number of vehicles driving at high speeds on the N3 and N55 roads.

Both routes are governed by 100kmph zones but motorists have been picked up driving at a third more than the legal limit.

A selection of the speeds detected include 142km/h, 150 and 153 kmph.

In an online post, local gardaí ask motorists to “please slow down, put the phone away and never drink under the influence of alcohol or drugs".

Kilnaleck garda station

THE opening hours for Kilnaleck Garda Station for July are as follows: July 11 and 15 from 10am until 1pm and July 24 and 28 from 8-11pm.

There will be a member of An Garda Síochána present between these times should you wish to have forms completed, have any queries or want to make a report.

Stolen motorbike

GARDAÍ have issued an appeal for information about a motorbike stolen from Emyvale at the weekend.

The black Suzuki was taken from the Girfin area some time between 5pm on Saturday, July 5 and 9am the following morning, Sunday, July 6.

Gardaí in Monaghan are appealing for any information to assist the investigation or witnesses to contact them on 047-77200.
