File for DPP in explosive devices investigation
A man in his 40s, arrested as part of a Garda investigation into the discovery of a number of attempted improvised explosive devices (IEDs), has been released from garda custody without charge.
He was arrested during an operation last Sunday evening, July 6, 2025, involving national, regional and local garda units in County Monaghan.
The man was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda Station in the North Western Region for questioning.
Gardaí have confirmed that, following his release, a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the matter. The investigation remains ongoing.
An Garda Síochána continue to liaise with colleagues in the PSNI in relation to this investigation.
