Draws for second round of JFC and IFC confirmed

The draws for round two of the Junior Football Championship and Intermediate Football Championship were made this evening and have thrown up some intriguing ties.

Shannon Gaels, who defeated Redhills 2-16 to 1-16 this evening, will take on west Cavan rivals Templeport, who turned on the style in the second half against Mountnugent last night.

Redhills meet Kildallan, who lost 1-16 to 0-15 to Munterconnaught. Drumalee and Mountnugent clash while there is a local derby between Kill and Drung, who beat Drumalee and Killeshandra respectively.

The Leaguers, meanwhile, take on Belturbet, conquerers of Swanlinbar (2-14 to 1-14).

In the Intermediate Championship, two first-round winners, Butlersbridge and Lacken (who had a notable win over recently-promoted Shercock) meet, with Knockbride facing Cuchulainns.

The Reds of Cornafean, who were impressive against the Knocks, face Killinkere. Bailieborough were conmfortable winners over the latter and will hope to extend their winning run when they face Drumgoon, who lost to the ‘Bridge.

Denn and Drumlane lost to Ballymachugh and Cootehill respectively and have been drawn against each other. The Hughs face Shercock, with the Celts taking on Lavey.
